What is coed meaning?

Coed is short for "coeducational" which refers to an educational institution or program that includes both male and female students. It can also refer to social activities or sports teams that allow both genders to participate. The term has its origins in the late 19th and early 20th century when women began attending previously all-male colleges and universities. Today, the majority of educational institutions across the world are coeducational, although some single-sex schools still exist.
